Summary Of An Evaluation Study Of Educational Technology 1

  • Summary of an evaluation study of educational technology with particular focus on the evaluation methodology used in this study:
The Title of the study was "Effectiveness of mobile learning in distance education". This study was done by Dr। Muhammad Imran YOUSUF .

The study aimed to measure students' attitudes and perceptions towards the importance of mobile learning in distance education
In more specific this study aimed to:
  • Explore the perception of distance learners about the importance of mobile learning
  • Draw the students‟ preferences for mobile learning in distance learning
  • Examine what extent the distance learners are used to mobile learning
This study uses questionnaire as a research instrument for data collection. Researcher developed questionnaire by using five-point likert scale called as Survey of Mobile Learning in Distance Education (SMLDE) on the basis of literature and related

Summary of an evaluation study of educational technology with particular focuses on the evaluation of specific technology features:
The title of this study was
"A study on the evaluation and effectiveness analysis of web-based learning portfolio(WBLP)"
This research was aimed to evaluate a Web-Based Learning Portfolio through practical teaching process to understand if the WBLP system helps students to grab the learning process and enhances learning outcomes.
This research has designed its own questionnaire for user evaluation। There are four major components for the contents of this questionnaire: system functions, screen and interface design resarch.

WBLP Features evaluation:

Results of user evaluation:

System functions:
*System functions(Portfolio Browse, Portfolio Creation, Portfolio Guide, Portfolio Discussion Board, Portfolio Bulletin Board, Portfolio Suggestion Board)

Such results reveal that the six major functions of the system have met the needs of the users very high

Screen and interface design

Based on the results of the survey, the screen and interface design was appropriate for the learners in term of :
*the overall framework

*the overall configuration of colors and background

*the overall layout of screen and window design

*and overall interface operation method

* and ease of use of the interface operation both score highly

System use:

*Most of the users use the system continually and make modification on their portfolios content according to the teacher and peer feedback

*A very few of the users tend to ignore the teacher and peers feedback

WBLP impacts on learning process:

From the survey results, it appears to be that most of the users agree that this system has been helpful for their learning process or learning outcomes
